But then this strap looks a little off-the-wall on every watch I've tried it on. Wink

There has got to be a watch for which this one's a perfect match I am confused, but swelp me if I can figure out which one it is. Laughing

I got to admit, I kinda like it! Smile

I mean, considering that, going in, I was afraid that it would not work at all...

The dial was very washed-out in that HWS, so I fired up Gimp, threw a circle mask around it, and adjusted the brightness and contrast a bit.. hence the slightly wonky appearance. Oops!

But you get the idea. And it wears Grrrrrrrrr8! with this strap! Thumbs up! It won't be permanent, but as a change of pace I reckon it's fine 'n' dandy.

Cheers!

Several factors, but basically it boils down to the stars just not being properly aligned. Frowning

And, yes, 22mm.

I'm hung up on the brown in this one... I like the black & white part of the strap, though. (n/t) (Views: 40)

That actually fits quite nicely! I like the color combo a lot...as it makes me think of a camper/hunter/a field ranger...definitely for someone who enjoys the outdoors. --Angelis

..growing on me, I must admit. Smile

And regardless of how it looks, this strap is one of the most comfortable I've ever encountered. Reminds me of my vintage Redwing boots WIS Honeymoon in that regard.

IMO That strap can only go on one watch >>> (Views: 57)

I ordered these these from Seiko Prince / Tungchoy / IDS On Line on the 24th, so pretty darned fast service. Thumbs up! "Seiko Prince" is the moniker used by Tungchoy, but definitely the same company. While they're based in Hong Kong, much of their product is shipped from Edison, NJ (IDS On Line), resulting in a faster turnaround.

These are medium-gauge mesh, made from .8mm wire. The black bracelet measures 3mm thick, while the silver is 2.85mm. Not sure if the black coating makes up the entire .15mm difference in thickness, or not. If so, it is a very, very thick coating by PVD standards! The packaging is marked "Louis Boyer FRANCE", though the bracelet itself does not bear the brand (the only marking on the bracelet is "STAINLESS STEEL").

The closure is a bit unusual..

..being an open-ended sliding-anchor fliplock design, but with the addition of a safety lock. Never seen one quite like it. I am confused Works nicely, though! WIS Honeymoon

The bracelet is listed as 165mm, but you could "fudge it" enough to get 170mm. On the Trintec it fits with about 1/4" to spare. I've got it set on the loose side so, at the max, it could accommodate an ~ 8-3/4" wrist in this application.

It wears Grrrrrrrrrrrr8! It's a happy day, a new watch arrived Clapping! Seems the perfect gauge of mesh for the Trintec, to me - not so thick as to overpower the watch, but not so thin as to feel wimpy. Balanced! WIS Honeymoon

For the price I paid ($27.99 for the black PVD, $19.99 for the silver), I recommend these highly. Thumbs up! Note that the prices are a few bucks higher on the Tungchoy website, but they include a "Best Offer" feature. Don't be a-skeered to use it.. Laughing

Thanks for readin', y'all!

Cheers!

-Ricky

P.s. - no, I haven't mounted the silver bracelet on the Mondaine yet. I started to but, honestly, I'm still enjoying the..

The much smaller mesh strap I have on the Vostok I've been wearing today works the same way, but a bit smaller in scale. Has the safety clasp that is mounted on the opposite end just like that.

I'm thinking about getting the loose-weave "shark suit" mesh to put on my Vostok '67 reissue. Quite a bit more than your model (and I looked closely at that too) but I like the rougher tool-like appearance and think it fits the spirit of my reissue Amphibia.

..it's not that unusual. Still, it's the first one I've ever owned, while I've got maybe a half-dozen that use the similar single-action clasp (not all are mesh).

Right.. they offer that exact style in 18, 20, and 22mm.

I considered that one. The removable links are an intriguing design, and guarantee that it would fit. But, aside from the extra cost ($78+ in black Eek!), I was afraid that it'd be too thick and heavy for the Trintec. I reckon it'd work great on the Amhibia, though! Thumbs up!

There's also this one..

Tungchoy

..which is quite similar in design to the Staib, which I do love. And compared to the Staib's price Eek!, it's a real bargain! Thumbs up!

Similar, but not identical. Ah.. heck, no photo of the Le Jaye's closure, but here's the watch:

I really need to finish that one. Oops! Main reason I haven't, thus far, is that it's a little on the small side.. Smile

Anyway, here's the Louis Boyer closure again:

The Le Jaye has the fliplock lever you see on the left side, but not the safety lock you see on the right side. That's the way all open-ended closures of this type that I've seen so far work. The combination of the fliplock and the safety lock is a new one on me. Smile

-Ricky

Okay gotcha now...didn't notice the safety lock before. (n/t) (Views: 42)
