One of the more interesting pieces in my last eFlay grab bag o' watches was a Charles Huber chrono. I found the Miyota T480 module to be most interesting though, alas, the analog portion was busted. Well, turns out or own Chris Larson had this peas-in-a-pod Waltham model..

..and was amenable to a trade. Done!

It's in way Way better condition that the Charles Huber, and it fired right up when I installed the new battery, and all functions work A-OK. All in all a pretty neat watch! Thumbs Up!

Chris also included the uber-NATO strap, which I'm really diggin'. I say "uber-NATO" because this in not a regulation G10 design - note the extra ring on the long side. The hardware appears to be identical to that used on Zulu straps. A great design that..

..I couldn't resist tryin' on several other watches. Good stuff! WIS honeymoon

For good measure, here are a couple of photos of the Charles Huber which precipitated the trade.

The movement on the Waltham is identical. An odd movement that I've never before seen and which, I must say, makes a lot of sense to me. Thumbs Up! The layout seems a bit odd at first..

Crowns and pushers at 2, 4, 8, and 10? How often do you see that? And the weird truncated half-dome layout of the analog side? After a bit, though, it strikes me as an eminently ergonomic design! Hubba hubba!

There must be a VRMW! version, surely. Wink, wink ... Anyone know? Laughing!

Many thanks, Chris! Thumbs Up!

Against all odds, it's turned out to be one of my favorite watches. Wink, wink ... (Views: 11)

Perhaps I'm at long last getting over my Aversion To Whacking Great Rotating Bezels... Laughing!

I knew you would like the strap too. We needed some change of color in your caveman/Tom Swift posts. Lauging out loud!

The Timex on my end of the trade is beating strong. I still have to take some proper photos yet. I only have this Wrist Shot using the crappy webcam built into my netbook.

I was flipping over a Casio 1984 watches catalog online the other day & there were tons of analog-digital.

Yep, seems it's of a little older vintage than I first thought... (n/t) (Views: 12)

Still diggin' the Waltham, though I must say the ergos of this particular ana-digi layout ain't growin' on me as I thought it might. Still a cool watch, though! Thumbs Up!

I think you might be seeing how I didn't quite like the offset dial when trying to time stuff with the rotating bezel. Stuff just does not line up in a linear fashion. I had a different ana-digi before that one (I think it was a Wrangler brand) that had a better layout IMO. That one was tossed in the trash after I managed to smash the mineral crystal, and then bought that Waltham to replace it.

Nope, no more lume-shots of the Timex I'll stick to foreign brands for now. Lauging out loud!

How about a 60-year old Westend Watch Co. ? The Radium needs a little help from a UV light though...
