I've always wanted a Zodiac, and these are going for very attractive prices on the 'bay;

Zodiac Desert Hawk

Zodiac Desert Hawk Quartz watch

I prefer a Pilot or Flieger Watch over a Diver Watch by a wide margin, so this would seem to fill the bill.

And since I'm actually a fan of quartz watches, that's no drawback.

So what's the problem, you say? Well, 'tis the oversized hour markers at 2, 4, 8 and 10. Having those so much bigger in comparison to the others looks a little odd to me.

I dunno. Maybe it'd grow on me. I mean, it's not a URGH! kinda reaction, but it definitely looks a bit weird to me...

 Get one & try it for a few days, you can always sell or trade it if you don't like it. Smiley Post contains no message text (views: 1)

Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off! While I've been disappointed in person by watches that looked good in pics, I don't know that it's ever gone the other way. I.E. having been pleased by a watch that generated ambivalent feelings based on pics. Why? Duh! 'cause I've always 'played it safe' and passed, when in doubt!

So maybe it's time to take a chance. Perhaps I'll go for it.

It is a rather bold, eye-catching design. It pays homage to the classic Pilot or Flieger Watch look without being slavishly faithful to it. That appeals to me.. 's much the same tack I took with my own Mark XI homage, after all.

I dunno.. the more I look at it (and I've been looking at it all day!), there's a certain symmetry to the big markers that's kinda cool. Sorta gives me the same "WTF?!" impression as a California Dial (though I detest those as an abomination against nature Smiley), yet it's far more understated...

Thanks, Adam! Indeed, thanks to all who took the time to respond!

 For what its worth, I don´t like it. Those huge n:o´s are just too much of a URGH! factor. Would have been Thumbs Up for this Watch otherwise Post contains no message text (views: 4)
